Mark Mangiola is a Venture Partner at Canaan Partners. Over the last 30 years, he has been an operating professional, coach, and investor in the digital media, next-gen content, and communications industries.
Mark started his first cable company at age 24 which he scaled from a team of 10 to a team of thousands, with a strong philosophy of building a culture focused on a rich customer and employee experience. His subsequent gig was riding the wave of broadband as a founding executive of @Home Network. His roles there included VP of Operations, CEO of @Home Solutions, a division of Excite@Home, President and CEO of Positive Communications, and Executive Vice President at KBLCOM/Time Warner.
Most recently Mark has been a Senior Advisor to YouTube creating an invaluable nexus for Canaan's portfolio companies and YouTube partner companies. He currently serves as Canaan's board observer for Artspace, a new marketplace changing the way the world experiences art; Tubular Labs, intelligent video marketing; and Victorious.
Whether on or off the field, Mark's real passion for the past decade has been bringing his experience as both an entrepreneur and college track geek to help entrepreneurs and athletes resolute about getting to their edge in performing, whether on the track or in the board room.
When Mark's not busy being a team member, he drums in the rock band, "Resistance is Futile", with another Canaan Partner (Deepak Kamra on bass), making snarky comments about everything... including Deepak's inability to sing in harmony.
"I like to work with entrepreneurs and athletes resolute about getting to their edge in performing, whether on the track or in the board room."
